Jason Lim Wei Liang

Counsel

Profile

Jason greatly enjoys complicated jigsaw puzzles and in a similar vein, finds satisfaction in piecing together the moving parts of a complex case. That aside, he thinks that the most meaningful cases are those where help is provided to those who are unable to help themselves.

Jason graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2015 and was called to the Singapore bar the following year. Jason began his legal career under Sreeni’s tutelage at Straits Law Practice LLC, and subsequently at K&L Gates Straits Law LLC.

Jason has worked on a wide variety of complex commercial disputes at the Singapore High Court and Court of Appeal levels, including contractual disputes, tortious claims and company-related litigation. He has also been involved in large-scale insolvency, judicial management and liquidation proceedings. Jason has also advised on “dawn raids” and cross-border investigations.

Jason acted as co-counsel in a 200 day-High Court trial concerning one of the biggest cases of market manipulation in Singapore. He has experience with various offences under the Securities and Futures Act. Jason acted in one of the leading cases concerning criminal seizure of assets, and is well-versed in various white-collar offences including fraud, corruption, and tax evasion. Jason has also handled a number professional negligence and misconduct cases.

In his approach to legal practice, Jason draws from his Catholic faith. He strives to provide a listening ear and to understand each client’s unique circumstances, as well as to give advice that is practical and realistic. He believes that clients should feel that they are not alone throughout their journey. Outside of work, Jason can be found either spending quality time with his family, at the rock climbing gym, or avidly consuming the latest sports news and highlights.
